Hits and Hoots
McSorley, Brashear, et al, have taken hockey to a new low. Instead of the finesse and skill of hockey players of the past (not Tie Domi), these thugs maim, mangle and make comatose their competitors. And what happens? A couple of games suspension? A slap on the wrist? Oh wait - when the police threaten to press charges, the slap is a little harder, but they still end up back on the ice, collecting huge paychecks. What message does this send the children who look up to these sports figures? What message does it send society - that violence in sports is not violence at all? Where are the outraged masses, asking for fair consequences to criminal acts? Since when has any game of sports become above the law?
